Émile Prisse D'Avennes

Born in 1807, Émile Prisse d'Avennes was a French archaeologist, Egyptologist, architect and writer.

Having relocated to Egypt and worked for the Egyptian government, Prisse d'Avennes gained great insight and adapted to the culture. By doing so, he became one of the greatest pre-20th-century Egyptologists.
