Celebrating 10 Years of Wallsauce

Any excuse for cake at Wallsauce.com, but this one is a good one! This month we celebrate Wallsauce’s 10th year in business - and what a ride it has been!

From a three-man operation working in Ribchester in 2013 with the idea of a start-up company for building your own wallpaper mural - to a bespoke printing company based in Great Harwood with a talented team of 10, it’s been a great journey.

How did we come up with the name Wallsauce? It might not be as crazy as you think, but the Managing Director, Tony, had the idea of ‘adding sauce to the wall’ - flip it around, et voila!

What happened next…

In 2014 we had a few highlights that are still memorable today. We helped the BBC TV show DIY SOS transform a home in Bury that put Wallsauce on the map.

Once the buzz got around from the home makeover show, we found ourselves supplying Red Letter Days, owned by Dragon Den’s resident Stalwarts, Peter Jones and Theo Paphitis.

Soon after, in 2017, Wallsauce brought in an in-house team, and people started noticing the business more. Coming along to our first feature in House Beautiful, this was the first publication where our bespoke murals were in. Leading on from this, we have continually featured in the likes of Period Living, Closer, The Metro and HGTV - the rest is history.

Who’s who?

Yes, things have changed since Wallsauce started up, but for the better! It started off with the first-ever hire, Rachel A.K.A Rachy, the Mother Hen. Rachel started off as a freelance graphic designer and soon found her feet becoming the studio manager - she’s your go-to girl and makes a mean cuppa tea! Then came along Marc A.K.A Bing. He also started off as a graphic designer helping production run smoothly. He then found a love of printing, becoming our very own production manager.

Fast forward to a couple of years later, the team started coming along nicely with the introduction of our marketing with the head of house Nicole A.K.A Boley, then our web developer Craig A.K.A Craigy (so inventive, we know)!

Expanding even more!

The bigger, the better, we say at Wallsauce! Later on in the years, we expanded our production with the move of in-house printing in 2023. This moved us from Ribchester to Great Harwood. Using state-of-the-art printing and cutting technology, we are now able to print our very own wall murals. We’re also able to offer customers samples of their chosen designs - something we’ve been hoping to do for a long time!

Lightbulb moment! We had the idea of allowing customers to visualize seeing their mural in their homes before committing to the purchase. We implemented a program where this could happen - this gave Wallsauce an extra personal touch which we still love to this day!

Making sure we stayed ahead of the game, along came wall prints! Working with a handful of talented artists from around the world, we introduced access to some of the most beautiful prints on the world wide web.

What are we doing now?

This year, we visited our recyclable packaging materials that your murals arrive in. Anything to make the world a better and more sustainable place, we’re jumping on it! We continue to review our environmental efforts and are looking for more ways to make Wallsauce a more sustainable place.
