Fasten your seatbelts, trendsetters… our predictions of the interior trends for 2024 will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions! Be aware this year, our trend predictions may be a little contradicting.
From the interior trends of 2023 that will continue throughout 2024 to new and emerging interior ideas that will have you getting extra creative, will we inspire your year ahead?
And before you ask… who are we to be making these critical statements?! Well, we’re Wallsauce – creators of made-to-measure wallpaper murals. Trends are what make our product go around the world! Also, recently, it was our tenth birthday.
We’re no new kid on the block! Some of you may not like this, but one of our interior trends predictions is literally not a trend. Intrigued? Read on to find out more…
Raw textures
In 2023, we had seen many stone textures in interior design. Whether it be the latest crockery or vase or whether you’d go all out and adorn your walls in stone.
In 2024, we’ll continue embracing this trend with even more raw textures. Think marbles and concrete too.
From beautiful stone-wear accessories to washed plaster walls, homes will be stripped back. Think the Mediterranean meets farmhouse vibes. Where the natural Mediterranean landscape gets a soft touch with a farmhouse dressing.
All year-round summer colours

Despite raw, natural textures taking over our interiors in 2024, we’ll also see bursts of colour everywhere! If the two trends won’t mix – take your pick!
WGSN and Coloro are already predicting the key interior colour trends to be Fondant Pink, Cyber Lime, Radiant Red, Elemental Blue, and Nutshell.
Even the Nutshell shade is far from the once popular griege.

Metallic accents

In 2022, we predicted that luxury interiors were on the horizon. Following on from this trend, you can expect to see it mellow with hints of luxury.
Glimmers of gold may be introduced into your raw textures, for example. Take this marble mural. It’s a double whammy! Not only does it evoke the raw texture of marble, but the gold offers a hint of glamour.
Ironically, dopamine interiors
Dopamine: “A chemical released in the brain that makes you feel good.”
With discussions on this already on TikTok, we predict it will become as big as minimalism and maximalism.
The pressure to maintain décor as on-trend as can be has never been so high! Social media plays a significant part in influencing your next purchases. However, will we be switching off in 2024? Instead of keeping up with the Joneses, we will choose items and looks that make us feel good.
If that means hanging paper jellyfish around your room – you go for it!
Swap, share and recycle
Tying in with the dopamine interior trend, purchases will become more thrifty. Now that we’ll not be hunting down the ‘next best accessory’, we’ll be looking for that bargain of the century instead. Whether that means trawling your local forums or swapping goods on apps, you’ll be adorning your rooms with unique treasures!
And don’t make us say it… This cost of living crisis is a giant excuse to hop on this interior trend for 2024. Perhaps it will change our perception of money and make us savvy spenders – perhaps even eco-warriors who get a kick from the swap, share and recycle idea.
Continued interior trends in 2024
Last year, we reported that biophilia in the bedroom would be popular in interior design in 2023. A year later, and we’re still loving it! So much so, we predict biophilia will take over your home, with plants galore and savvy ways to get that air circulating.
If you’re one of the lucky ones who still get to work from home, biophilia is an excellent interior trend for bringing the outdoors into an enclosed, perhaps claustrophobic space.
In summary, when it comes to planning your interiors for 2024, think eco ways, raw textures with bursts of colours. Don’t forget - There’s no overthinking for the year ahead. Go with what makes you feel good!

EVERY room re wallpapered in my fav soft teals or pinks with white, replaced my ugly x's backsplash with handcrafted teal mermaid tail tiles which look beyond beautiful with my swirled brown granite ( yay, color in the kitchen came back), almond wraparound cabinets with ceramic pink/gold/ivory pulls, velvet blush chairs & stools, oversized floral teal Anthro sofa at 'dinette'. Antique elements mix with traditional and moderne. I tucked jeweled trinkets both for the children to find, have whimsical Mackenzie reindeer everywhere, drape lace/velevt over railings, chairs and lampshades. I get raves for me SO ME romantic, elegant and whimsical design and I entertain so much more. My living room has a peacock velvet chaise sofa facing an emerald green & teal CURVED Anthro sofa with a variety of styled chairs in green, blush, brocade, cane, lavender.....I will never tire of d
